Laminate is the cheapest benchtop material and is available in an outstanding array of colours and finishes from matt to high gloss. It is available in a variety of edge profiles including 180 degree bullnose, 8mm pencil round, square edge etc. It is standard at 33mm thick but if a 90 degree bullnose or square edge is selected it can be as thick as your like.
Granite – is a natural product and comes in a wide variety of colours. We recommend that you select the slabs you like from the stone yard as colours vary from year to year depending on what is being quarried at the time. Most slabs are 20mm thick, some slabs are 30mm thick and you can make the edge appear thicker by doubling the edge to 40mm or mitring the edge to 60 or 80mm.
Engineered Stone – is a man made product manufactured from real stone and is consistent in colour from year to year. It is available in the same slab and edge thickness are granite.
Marble – is a porous product and is not generally recommended for kitchens.
Synthetic benchtops – like Corian, Hanex or Freestyle by Laminex . These are available in a large variety of colours. The beauty of this product is the seamless joins in the tops which enables you to create large islands or benchtops with no visible joins and and integrate seamless sinks. This product is also able to be repaired seamlessly if mishaps occur.
Stainless Steel – can be moulded to any thickness and shape and include integrated sink bowls with no visible joins.
Timber – available in a variety of timbers and can be either oiled or finished with a polyurethane paint.
